Living Faith

I was reading out of Oswald Chamber’s devotional My Utmost for His Highest this morning and came across this for today, “Never confuse the trial of faith with the ordinary discipline of life, much that we call the trial of faith is the inevitable result of being alive.”

I know that all of us face different trials in our lives and some much worse than others. But as a pastor I have been called on many times to help someone who has either lost a loved one or they have a family member facing serious surgery or a life-threatening disease. It is in these situations where faith is the foundation that undergirds our lives and gives us strength to face them head on. Not faith simply in a doctor or a medication but in a loving God who has proved His faithfulness over and over again to use every means available for our good.   We will all face trials because we live in a sin-run world where godlessness is running rampant and where we have to face it daily. In some of these situations we need to remember that it is part of the life and world that we live in. Remember the Biblical faith in your hearts is a faith that stands against everything that contradicts God. Stand like David as he stood against Goliath. Don’t run away from situations or problem but run towards them, knowing that God will give you victory!   That’s Just One Man’s Opinion!
